Al-Ajlan Global signs agreement to build solar energy plants

The British capital, London, witnessed the signing ceremony of a contract between the Saudi Al-Ajlan Global Group and the British Innovative Green Company to establish a factory for the production of solar energy panels in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The contract was signed in the presence of the Saudi Ambassador to the UK, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Saudi Minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah. The Al-Ajlan Global Group intends to establish the factory in the Sudair Industrial City, making it one of the largest solar energy factories specializing in this field, under the sponsorship and direction of the Saudi government to rationalize and reduce the waste of the country's natural gas and oil wealth. The planned factory aims to use the latest technologies and discovered international standards to produce the equivalent of 100 megawatts of energy annually. The Arab region enjoys the highest abundance of solar radiation in the world, with the intensity of solar radiation falling on the Kingdom's lands reaching approximately 1,000 watts per square meter at midday, with an average of 250 to 300 watts per square meter per day, equivalent to 6 kilowatt-hours per square meter per day. These advantages apply to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom receives approximately 2,200 kilowatts of photovoltaic energy per square meter per year. Given the importance of preserving the rights of future generations to oil wealth and ensuring that the period of benefiting from this wealth is sufficiently long, and given the significant increase in electricity consumption in the Kingdom, which leads to increased costs resulting from the use of fuel in electricity generation, and the importance of reducing gas emissions, attention must be given to developing renewable energy sources in the Kingdom, the most important of which is solar energy. Mr. Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Ajlan, Chairman of Al-Ajlan Global Group, confirmed that the group intends to employ and train Saudi national cadres and raise their efficiency so that they are able to lead the solar energy industry in their country. Al-Ajlan also thanked the Saudi Commercial Attaché in London, Mr. Fawaz Al-Ghamdi, for his efforts in the previous period to coordinate between the two companies to sign this agreement.
